Best Sample of any variety of Wool. . Best Sample of any variety of Seeds. . Best-managed Farm. . Best-managed Green Crop. . Best-managed Hay Crop. . Bost~managed Dairy. . Best Sweet-Milk Cheese. . Best Cured Butter. . Best Fresh Butter. . Best collection of Roots. . Best-kept Fences. . Best Sheep-Shearer. . Most expert Hedge-Cutter. . Most expert Labourer at Draining. . Best Maker of Oatcakes. It is left to the local Society to choose out of the foregoing list the classes to which the Medals are to be allocated. RULES OF COMPETITION. 1. All Competitions must be at the instance of a local Society. 2. The classes for which Medals are granted must be in accordance with the foregoing list. The Local Committee shall select the classes, and specify them in the Report. 3. The Offer of the Medals must be announced in the Premimn List and Catalogue of the Show as “presented by the Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland.” 4. The Medals are granted for two years, and lapse if not awarded in those years. 5. N 0 Society shall receive more than two Medals in any year. 6. A Committee of Management shall be appointed, and either the Convener of the Committee or the Secretary of the Society must be a member of the Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland. 7. When it is agreed to hold the General Show of the Society in any one Of the Show Divisions, no Local Society may hold a Show within that Division in the three months immediately preceding the date of the General Show. In the event of a Show being held, the entire Grant will be cancelled. 8. The Money Premiums given in the District must he not less than £2 for each Medal offered. 9. The Medal for Sheep-Shearing shall always accompany the highest Money Premium. _ 10. There must not be fewer than three competitors in all the classes. 11. Regarding Reports and despatch of Medals, Rules 10 and 11, Class 1, will apply. 12. When a grant of Medals has expired, 8.
